`I own several books which are very special and important to me. Some, like To Pistevo Mas, by Colonel Papadopoulos, are out of print and beyond difficult to find. My books by General Pattakos were given to me by his daughter, and he wrote in them for me. He is now 101-years-old, so if anything happens to them, I can't just ask him to write in new ones. I also wish to purchase some rare grammar books, so that I can finish learning Dimotiki and then learn Katharevousa. All are extremely expensive, especially when shipping to America is added. I need to scan these books so that I can read them. Unfortunately, the only scanners that I own are flatbeds, which force me to ruin the bindings. Of course, that's not acceptable here. Can anyone recommend either a camera scanner or some kind of flatbed that won't ruin the books? I will most likely be using Scan2text or Finereader, as Kurzweil cannot recognise Greek. I have heard of the Book Drive, the Hovercam, and the Book Edge. Has anyone tried these with success? Thanks.
